Event Details
"Grab Your Leash and Join the Fun!"
- When: Saturday, September 11th from 7:00am to 12:00pm
- Where: The Maple Mall at California State University Fresno
- What: The Wiggle Waggle Walk and Furry 5K Run is a fundraiser benefiting the Valley Animal Center, Fresno's premier no-kill shelter and spay/neuter/vaccination clinic for dogs and cats. Participants can preregister, or register at the event starting at 7:00am.
Event Activities
- Furry 5K Run: Lace up your running shoes and leash up your running companion! This non-competitive 3.1 mile race is a great way to test your running pace, with or without your four-legged friend. Run starts at 7:30 a.m.
- Wiggle Waggle Walk: Take a leisurely morning stroll through California State University, Fresno’s beautiful campus with your canine companion. Walk starts at 8:30 a.m.
- Mutts in Motion Flyball Team: These outrageously talented pups are always a crowd favorite at our Wiggle Waggle Walk. Watch these athletic animals as they demonstrate flyball - a relay team sport for dogs that will take your breath away.
- Canine Good Citizenship Testing: Get your dog certified as a “Canine Good Citizen” by Trainer and Test Administrator Jennifer Burns of Standing O’Paws Dog Training during our rounds of testing at the event! Pets will be put through a series of tests to ensure they are properly obedience trained. Certification fee only $5!
- Raffle: Support the Valley Animal Center by purchasing raffle tickets to win tongs of great prizes! A huge variety of prize baskets will be raffled off at 11:30 a.m.!

- Adoptions in the Valley Animal Center’s Brand-New Mobile Adoption Unit and MORE: Looking for a new forever friend to add to your family? Visit the Valley Animal Center’s brand-new Mobile Adoption Unit “M.A.R.C.” and the other rescue groups stationed near our Vendor Village. There will be a great variety of adoptable dogs to choose from!
- Vendor Village: Come check out some of the best pet friendly businesses in the Valley! The Vendor Village will feature many businesses you and your pet can appreciate, from Veterinary services, pet spas and boarding facilities, canine couture, and fun treats for both you and your pets! We’ll also have free face painting available from the talented Mary Aragon!
- Food Sampling: Fuel up after your fitness activities with great healthy snacks from Valley vendors. Enjoy coffee, fruit, and tasty treats!
- Pet Microchipping Booth: Have you microchipped your pet to ensure they will be returned to you if they ever get lost? Microchip identification takes just a moment, but it can help keep your pet safe for a lifetime. Have your canine friends micochipped for the low Valley Animal Center price of just $25 each (includes collar tag).
- Canine Agility Course: Your pooch is guaranteed to have a blast trying their skills at the agility course provided by Standing O’Paws Dog Training! Watch them loop through hoops and hop over hurdles - all with the assistance of certified dog trainer Jennifer Burns.
- Contests for You and Your Pooch: Get ready to win fun pet prizes in our three annual contests - “Best Smooth with your Pooch”, the “Long Dsistance Biscuit Toss”, and “Best Silly Pet Trick”. Practice your skills and come strut your mutt!
- Meet Clayton Clark of KMPH Great Day: Meet local celebrity and Master of Ceremonies Clayton Clark of KMPH Fox 26. He’ll be running the show with his adorable furry friend Dakota!
